Even though he's not really getting a ton of attention right now, Eagles quarterback Nick Foles has been one of the most impressive quarterbacks in the NFL this season. How impressive? Apparently, so impressive that Eagles head coach Chip Kelly—who as recently as two weeks ago refused to name Foles the Eagles' permanent starter at QB—just announced that Foles is going to be quarterbacking the Eagles for a long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long time. No, really, a LONG time.
"He's the starting quarterback for the next 1,000 years here," Kelly said earlier today.
A thousand years?! Wow! There's job security and then there's Nick Foles-level job security.
Sadly, though, something tells us Foles won't be playing football in 1,000 years. He's not Brett Favre, guys. But for now, at least we all know that Foles has finally been named the full-time starter for the Eagles. It took Kelly long enough to come around to that decision, eh?
