Sorry, MLB fans. But you're no longer going to be able to see this:
Or…well, you get the point.
Major League Baseball has decided to do away with home plate collisions by banning them from the game of baseball. The new rule change could be in effect as soon as next season. And when MLB starts enforcing it, they will not allow MLB catchers to block home plate anymore. They also won't allow runners to target catchers who are standing near home plate. And the league will allow the use of instant replay to determine whether or not a catcher or a runner caused a collision when collisions do (inevitably!) take place.
So enjoy the collision GIFs above while you still can. Because they're going to become extinct in the not-so-distant future.
