California just gave Tesla a little help in the form of a $34.7 million tax break. The electronic car manufacturer has been trying to increase production, which this break should certainly help with. Tesla will also be excused for sales and use taxes for up to $415 million in equipment

"I'm pleased we could take this action to encourage Tesla to expand its electric vehicle production in California, which will create green jobs and improve our air quality," State Treasurer Bill Lockyer said.

With Tesla's planned expansion, the company's output should grow from 21,500 cars to 56,500 and create 112 new jobs. California has estimated that the increase in jobs and sales should make up for the tax break.
