It's been about three years now since Allen Iverson last played in the NBA. And yet, he still hasn't retired. Even though no NBA teams have shown interest in him in recent years, he's held out and hoped for another chance in the league. But it sounds like he's finally ready to hang up his sneakers for good.
According to a source close to Iverson who spoke to SLAM earlier today, Iverson is ready to announce his retirement from the NBA. He's expected to make an official announcement sometime within the next few days.
