It was a grueling three hours and ten minutes of tennis, but in the end, it was Andy Murray who ended up holding the trophy after an exciting matchup. Murry beat rival Novak Djokovic to become the first Brit to win Wimbledon since 1936. He won 6-4, 7-5, 6-4.
Djokovic gave Murray everything he could handle in the final, deciding set. The Serbian fought back from being down 40-0 in three match points to give himself a shot. But the raucous crowd was behind Murray during the final act, and it roared when he finally came out on top.
The victory also extends Murray's winning streak on grass to 18-0.
