Being fired mid-season is already bad enough, but Terry Porter lost his job while also sitting on a winning record. GM Steve Kerr, unsatisfied with Porter's slower coaching style, gave the job to assistant Alvin Gentry on an interim basis. The Suns went on to miss the playoffs, which might have made Porter feel a little better. But probably not.
