The man known as "Big Game James" earned his nickname on the biggest stage, playing several huge postseason games in both college and the pros. His 23.7 points per game average against the Celtics in the 1985 Finals helped establish Worthy as a reliable scorer in key situations, and he made his biggest leap in 1988. With Kareem Abdul-Jabbar aging, the Lakers needed Worthy to step up when they returned to L.A. down three games to two. Deliver he did, as Worthy posted 28 points and nine rebounds in Game 6 and followed that up with 36 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists in the title-clinching Game 7 to win the Lakers the title and earn him the Finals MVP award.
