Back on April 20, just five days after the tragic Boston Marathon bombing, Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz grabbed the microphone during a pre-game ceremony at Fenway Park and delivered a message to all the fans in attendance.
"This is our fucking city!" he yelled as the crowd cheered.
Now, he's using that rallying cry as a slogan to try and help those affected by the bombing. He's teamed up with Marucci Sports to create a bunch of custom bats with the words "This Is Our F@#%ing City!" printed on them, and he's selling them on his web site to help benefit One Fund. A bat signed by Ortiz is available for $500, while an unsigned bat is going for $125.
If you're interested in picking one up, head over here. You can also read a letter that Ortiz put together to announce the bats in the thumbs gallery. Way to step up here, Big Papi. We're sure the entire city of Boston appreciates it.
