You can spend years working on an engine, but there's no telling how much power it actually makes until you take to to a dynometer. When SSC took the as of yet unreleased Tuatara to the dyno for some power and stress testing. Luckily for the world's well heeled speed-freaks, SSC has said that the Tuatara "[surpassed] all design specifications."

This means 1,350 horsepower on premium fuel, up to 1,700 hp on race fuel, an a top speed of at least 275 mph, enough to dethrone the 267 mph Bugatti Veyron Supersport. Get ready for a new kind of speed.

Now we just want to know what kind of tires can stand up to that abuse.
