The official announcement won't be made until Monday, but according to NBA.com's Scott Howard-Cooper, Gary Payton will be elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. With a resume that includes an NBA title in 2008 with the Miami Heat, 1996 Defensive Player of the Year and nine All-Star selections, Payton averaged 16.3 points, 6.7 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game in his 17-year career.
The ceremony will take place on September 8 and it is being reported that The Glove will choose John Stockton and George Gervin as his presenters.
