The stout Hanburger was a key cog up the middle in college, starting at center on offense and middle linebacker on defense for the Tar Heels. Somehow lasting until the 18th round, Hanburger made a huge impact on the Redskins from the very beginning; his first Pro Bowl selection was in 1966, his second season in the NFL. "The Hammer" is one of the most decorated Redskins in the team's storied history, having made more Pro Bowls (nine) than anyone in the franchise's history. He was durable, too, starting 135 straight games from 1968 until 1977.
