Although he was forced to play second banana to Michael Jordan throughout his career, Pippen is one of the best players the game has seen in recent memory. His incredible ability to play lockdown defense on pretty much anyone was a major reason for the Bulls' success, as it freed Jordan to avoid having to cover the other team's best player. Pippen was an outstanding offensive player in his own right as well, shooting very efficiently from the perimeter and using his incredible athleticism to run fast breaks and get to the rim at will. He ranks second all-time in points, assists, and steals for the Bulls franchise, and he averaged at least double-digit points every season except for his rookie year and his last year.
