Russell is the greatest leader sports has ever seen. He won 8 championships as a player and three as a player/coach. Some may say he had a slew of Hall of Famers around him, but they'll also say it was Russell's team. He turned rejecting shots into an art form which has been lost on today's youth, sort of like the mid-range jumper. Instead of smacking shit into the third row, Russell would tap it to his wing players and initiate a fast break. That and Kareem's skyhook should be taught to young centers everywhere. If blocks were tallied in his day, Bill probably would've averaged 6 per game. 11 rings are hard to deny, especially if you were the catalyst to all of them. Plus the Finals MVP is named after him. Bill Russell rings.
