New York City has been slowly but surely building up it's cycling infrastructure over the last few years and the recent announcement from NYC's Department of Transportation to add 12,000 bicycle racks goes a long way in adding to it. The DOT will be spending $2 million to transform the city's no longer used parking meters into bike racks, adding to the city's current total of 8,193 bike racks.
