When we heard that BMW is mulling over the idea of an entry levelZ2 Roadster, we were hoping that it would be the luxury equivalent to the Scion FR-S. Sadly, the Z2 that's being considered is going to ride on BMW's front-wheel drive UKL platform, which makes it the luxury equivalent of a Mitsubishi Eclipse.
If the Z2 does get made, expect it to be smaller than the Z4, featuring a light-weight cloth-top, and powered by a range of engines that produce from 170 hp to 270 hp. A 300 hp Z2 M is also possible. If it is real, expect it to show up in 2015 right next to the infinitely cooler, Miata-based, Alfa Romeo Spyder.
