This police officer, Tony Lepore, trained as a dancer and a singer when he was younger, and never got his chance to make good on that. One fateful day in 1984 he got particularly bored while directing traffic and just decided to bust a move. It has since become a tradition in Providence, RI. Even though Lepore left the police force in 1988 and went into business with his brother, the force contracts him to direct traffic in an entertaining way for ten days every year to help draw shoppers downtown in the holiday season.
