Smaller cars are all the rage. Most rides in the booming segment border on cute, small packages meant to city driving. Mercedes, however, takes a different tact.
Teasing the new CLA ahead of the Detroit debut, Mercedes-Benz shows us a car that while built on an A-class platform, draws cues from the CLS. In fact, the car has been billed as a baby CLS. The exterior features a rippled hood and angular headlights, at the back the smallest sedan in the Mercedes line-up has dual exhaust and CLS-inspired tail lamps. Interior arrangements are similar to the A-Class, though the car will essentially be in a class of its own when it launches.
That is, until Audi and BMW break out rivals.
