It's National Bike to School Day today! You know what that means, right? We hope so, because it's fairly self-explanatory. The event is sponsored by the National Center for Safe Routes to School (yes, that is the actual name of an organization) in association with the League of American Bicyclists and hopes to encourage cycling as a means of transit for school children.
The benefits of riding a bike are fairly obvious, so we'll spare you the reasons why these organizations have decided to team up and create an official day for riding bikes to school. Many schools across the nation are participating in the event, providing incentives for kids who bike to school.
