Casey Neistat on the Yeezy Wave Runner: 'I Love You Kanye, This Is Just Not OK'

Casey Neistat shared his candid thoughts on Kanye's latest sneaker.

YouTube pioneer Casey Neistat recently linked up with Complex's own Joe La Puma at Stadium Goods in New York City for Sneaker Shopping, where he discussed his favorite high-tech sneakers and what the sneaker community is like on YouTube. During the episode, Casey also gave his thoughts on Kanye's Yeezys, and he had some high praise for 'Ye but also some criticism for the Wave Runners.

Having previously skated in the Yeezy Boost 350 V2s, Casey explained that he also bought a pair for his wife, too. "I think these are incredible," he said in regards to the 350 V2s. "The 750s are amazing, because there isn't really a shoe that looked like this before this. When it comes to sneaker innovation, I mean, look around the thousands of pairs of shoes in here, they all share a design language that is somewhat related. I think that, like, the magic of this is that it stepped outside of that."

However, he doesn't think as highly of the Wave Runners. "I'm a huge Kanye fan, I went to the first Kanye concert when it was 'Jesus Walks,' just like backpacks and buttoned down... and no matter how much I love Kanye... and I love Kanye, these are never and will be OK."

"I have this thesis on Yeezy the fashion line and the sneaker, which is that Kanye wanted to wear pajamas and hotel slippers all the time," he explained while praising just how comfortable the Yeezys are. "His entire line is like comfortable oversized sweatsuits and these are like fucking hotel slippers."

As for the Wave Runners: "I love you Kanye, this is just not OK."
