It was just last fall that we found out Nike was outperforming major companies like Hugo Boss, Burberry, and Yum Brands in China, but sources say there's one sneaker brand that has actually managed to overtake the Swoosh.

According to China Daily, Anta sold more sneakers than Nike in China during 2015. The site explains that Anta made over 100 billion yuan ($15.4 billion USD) last year by selling 40 million pairs of shoes in China, making it the first local brand to eclipse the 100 billion yuan mark.

As if that wasn't already big enough, the Chinese brand—which is endorsed by NBA players like Klay Thompson—has even more ambitious goals for the future. China Daily says Anta is hoping to join an elite group of sportswear brands with regular annual revenues of over 100 billion yuan by 2025, a feat that has only been achieved by Nike and adidas thus far.
