Pete Davidson's latest stop by SNL's "Weekend Update" is highlighted by his well wishes to his ex Ariana Grande, but he ended up offending GOP supporters two minutes earlier in the segment.

During a bit roasting several candidates for their appearances, Davidson mocked House of Representatives candidate Dan Crenshaw for wearing an eye patch. "You may be surprised to hear he’s a congressional candidate in Texas and not a hitman in a porno movie," he said. "I’m sorry, I know he lost his eye in war, or whatever. ” Crenshaw lost his eye to an explosive device while serving in the U.S. Military, so the stand-and-salute half of Twitter got upset.

Crenshaw himself said he's trying not to be offended, but wished that the comedy institution would be more considerate in the future.

Good rule in life: I try hard not to offend; I try harder not to be offended. That being said, I hope @nbcsnl recognizes that vets don’t deserve to see their wounds used as punchlines for bad jokes.

"Good rule in life: I try hard not to offend; I try harder not to be offended," he tweeted. "That being said,  I hope [SNL] recognizes that vets don’t deserve to see their wounds used as punchlines for bad jokes."

But Crenshaw trying not to get worked up doesn't mean others put in the same effort.

This gutless little coward was hiding behind his mommy while Dan Crenshaw was earning two Bronze Stars, the Purple Heart & the Navy Commendation Medal with Valor. Pete Davidson is your typical ungrateful millennial snowflake puke. @nbcsnl is a complete disgrace. #NavySEAL #MAGA https://t.co/gMnGvt6I9p
Remember when political comedy was funny and people like Pete Davidson and Saturday Night Live didn't have to resort to making fun of someone who lost their eye literally fighting terrorists? https://t.co/egVKx12Au5

The National Republican Congressional Committee demanded an apology in a statement from NRCC Spokesperson Jack Pandol.

"Getting dumped by your pop star girlfriend is no excuse for lashing out at a decorated war hero who lost his eye serving our country,” he said, according to Deadline. “Pete Davidson and NBC should immediately apologize to Dan, and to the millions of veterans and military families who tune in every weekend – because they’re not laughing.”

Conservative TV host John Cardillo tweeted out a list of NBC's advertisers and encouraged his followers to make noise about the segment.

For what it's worth, Davidson addressed that he was living in a glass house during the segment.

"I shouldn’t be making fun of how anyone looks," he said. "I look like I make vape juice in a bathtub."
