Over the last few years, Ed Sheeran has developed a habit of making surprise cameo appearances in TV and film—most notably in the Season 7 premiere of Game of Thrones as a Lannister solider.

Now, he's rumored to be in talks to appear in an upcoming comedy movie, directed by Danny Boyle and written by Richard Curtis. According to Deadline, the Universal film will also star Lily James and Himesh Patel.

Deadline's report comes a day after the Daily Mail published an article claiming that Sheeran is in talks for a Richard Curtis film "about a man who wakes up one day to find he is the only person who can remember the songs of The Beatles." An unnamed source close to the studio behind the movie told the Daily Mail, "Everything Ed touches turns to gold. He is the biggest hit-maker on the planet. If anyone can make a film about the Beatles songs even better musically, it's him.'"

It's unclear whether Sheeran would limit his contribution to an acting role, or if he would contribute to the soundtrack as well. He has performed Beatles tributes in the past, so it would be in his wheelhouse.

Sheeran has also impressed Paul McCartney with his music. In 2014, he shared a photo of a Paul-signed guitar with the message: "For Ed, who is brilliant!"
