Amy Schumer Hospitalized

Amy Schumer missed the London premiere of her new movie I Feel Pretty due to an unfortunate kidney infection which has resulted in a five-day hospitalization for the actress. According to Huffington Post, the comedian decided to follow her doctor’s orders of avoiding any travel and taking the time to recuperate. Schumer, being the fun-loving comedian that she is, also decided to post some “sexy as hell” selfies from her hospital bed.

While the photos are partly hilarious, they’re also endearing in that Schumer used them as an opportunity to thank her sister Kim Caramele, her newlywed husband Chris Fischer, sister-in-law Molly Fischer, and all the hospital staff for helping her get through this and back on her feet.

“I was hospitalized for 5 days with a horrible kidney infection,” she wrote. “I want to give a big thank you to the doctors, the bad ass nurses also my husband who’s name is, i want to say, Chris? and my sisters Kimby and mol who have been by my side the whole time.” In addition to her heartfelt thanks to everyone who stood by her, Schumer also expressed how badly she was looking forward to the London premiere of her new film.

“I wanted to share this with you because this is sexy as hell but mostly because I was meant to go to London for the opening of I Feel Pretty and my doctors have told me that’s a no go,” she wrote. “I’m really disappointed selfishly to miss this trip because I love London and Europe in general and all the great people (food) there.”

Schumer married Chris Fischer in February in a surprise ceremony that had Jennifer Lawrence, Larry David and Chelsea Handler in attendance. Even though she might be undergoing a physical rough patch right now, she seems mentally and emotionally anchored—largely due to family.

“The best part is just having a partner and being like ‘I got a team,’” Schumer said. “It was just me and [my dog] Tatiana and now it’s cool, you got someone to go through life with together that you love and you want to be partnered up with.”
