The terrifying trailer for Steven Soderbergh’s psychological thriller follows The Crown's Claire Foy, who plays a woman that tries to turn in her internet stalker, but soon finds herself committed to a mental institution against her will. As she confronts her biggest fears, she gets lost in her own mind and is unsure if any of this is real or actually a delusion.
Along with the award-winning actress (who recently took home the SAG Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series), Unsane also stars other recognizable faces: Joshua Leonard (Scorpion), Saturday Night Live alum Jay Pharoah, Juno Temple (Wonder Wheel), Aimee Mullins (Stranger Things) and Amy Irving (Zero Hour). But aside from the cast, what makes this Soderbergh-directed thriller unique is that it was shot on a device that we use every single day. Yes, the entire movie was filmed on an iPhone.
“Steven Soderbergh, first of all, is an amazing director. One of the quickest and sharped directors—it was a great experience," Pharoah told EW about Unsane last summer. "The movie kind of reminds me of some reality-type horror—almost Get Out-ish, but different, which feels good.”
