Former Disney star Adam Hicks was arrested for a string of robberies in California on Wednesday.
Hicks is best known for portraying Luther Jerome Waffles in Disney’s short-lived series, Zeke and Luther. The show followed two best friends with dreams of reaching Tony Hawk–levels of fame in the skateboard world. The Disney XD sitcom lasted for three seasons before being canceled in 2012.
Now, it seems that Hicks turned from acting to street crime to fill his pockets. BuzzFeed reports that Burbank Police arrested Hicks after a string of armed robberies in Burbank, California led them to his car and house. Hicks allegedly tried robbing a 52-year-old man at gunpoint in addition to three other people in the same area while his girlfriend, Danni Tamburo, allegedly fulfilled the duties of the getaway driver.
However, it went all downhill when each victim was able to give the police a similar description of the suspects and their vehicle. Then, one eyewitness saw the car and immediately alerted the police, who found and arrested Tamburo.
The police later discovered stolen property in their car and in Hick's home. The two have since been put in Burbank City Jail for armed robbery with bail set at $350,000. Their court date is set for Friday, Jan 26.
In light of the news, Hicks joins a slew of Disney stars who found themselves on the wrong side of the law including Lindsay Lohan and Shia LaBeouf. Britney Spears also famously spiraled out and cut off all of her hair in 2013. But we totally understand that now.
