The Rock Meets 'Heroic' Kid Who Saved His Little Brother Using CPR Moves From 'San Andreas'

Johnson welcomed the 10-year-old boy to the Vancouver set of his upcoming film 'Skyscraper.'

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson hung out with a pretty cool kid this week. 10-year-old Jacob O'Connor used some of The Rock's moves from the 2015 disaster-o-rama movie San Andreas to save his younger brother from drowning this summer. Johnson shared photos and video of his meeting with Jacob on Tuesday, calling the chance to meet the "heroic" kid a very special moment on the Vancouver set of his upcoming thriller Skyscraper.

"Jacob was super nervous and shy the whole time we hung out, so it was fun getting him to laugh and talk," Johnson said. "He threw me for an unexpected spin when he showed up on set wearing a shirt that he proudly made with my bull insignia on the front and on the back was the picture of me holding our two puppies, Brutus and Hobbs, after I rescued them from our pool." As Johnson noted on Instagram, Brutus was later lost "to heaven," so Jacob's t-shirt tribute hit him right in the gut. "What a special kid," Johnson added.

Young Jacob's San Andreas-influenced rescue was first reported back in August. Jacob initially spotted his baby brother Dylan's shoe "floating in the pool," then saw his body. Given that he had recently re-watched San Andreas (his favorite movie), Jacob instinctively imitated the scene in which Johnson's character successfully performs CPR on his unconscious daughter.

"The movie just popped up in my head and I started thinking about that scene," Jacob told the Washington Post of the incident, which occurred in July. "And that's when I started doing the compressions." The compressions worked, and after a quick hospital stay, little Dylan had fully recovered.

The inevitable San Andreas sequel, as reported last year, is currently in the works. Though no release date has been announced, the Hollywood Reporter confirmed in Feb. 2016 that San Andreas 2 will center its story on the volcano-heavy Ring of Fire region in the Pacific Ocean. Johnson and director Brad Peyton are expected to return.
