Kim Kardashian Is Being Sued for $100 Million Over a Smartphone Case

Kim's representative calls the lawsuit "another attempted shakedown."

Kim Kardashian is being sued again.

According to TMZ, the reality TV star’s company, Kimsaprincess, Inc., is facing a $100 million lawsuit for promoting an illuminated smartphone case by the brand LuMee. The accessory, which has become a favorite of Kim, features an integrated lighting system intended to improve users’ selfies. Inventor Hooshmand Harooni claims he patented the light up case back in 2013 and eventually licensed the design to a company called Snaplight. Both Harooni and Snaplight claim LuMee ripped off their idea and had an unfair advantage by inking an endorsement deal with the “queen of selfies.” The plaintiffs say Kim gets a cut of LuMee’s earnings and is the reason for the company’s success. They’re seeking $100 million from Kim to cover its lost profits.

A representative released a statement to TMZ, stating: “The patent lawsuit filed by Snap Light has no merit and is just another attempted shakedown. Kim has done absolutely nothing wrong.”

The news came less than a week after Kirsten Kjaer Weis filed a lawsuit against Kim’s KKW cosmetic line. Weis is a makeup artist who alleges the use of KKW is “confusing customers” by being too similar to her own KW logo. Weis is seeking sizable profits as well as damages.
