When stopping by Ellen DeGeneres' impossible-to-not-like talk show, it's probably best to be completely prepared for all possible pranks. DeGeneres, of course, has a penchant for facilitating ruthless trickery that typically revolves around the practice of scaring the absolute hell out of someone. When Captain America: Civil War stars Chris Evans and Elizabeth Olsen hit the show this week, the scare tactics were cranked to full blast.
To ease the pain of his scare, Evans is kind enough to top off the prank with a few hugs. The scare, though simple in its execution, would appear to work every single time someone pulls it on an unsuspecting co-star. "It's the best part about this show that you endorse this type of behavior," Evans told DeGeneres, fondly recalling that one time he also startled Scarlett Johansson with this little number:
Evans and Olsen, for some prankery of a different kind, were also confronted by DeGeneres about those pesky dating rumors. "We've heard that," Evans admitted. "We kept it so secret that we didn't even tell each other." Olsen joked that the two were "actually engaged," another apparent surprise for the Civil War stars. "We're about to move in with each other," Olsen laughed, "but we're still trying to figure out if we’re dating or not because we don't talk."
Captain America: Civil War, as we really hope you know by now, opens this Friday. If the early international box office numbers are any indication, then Marvel is set for another cash behemoth that not even the most elaborate Chris Evans prank could ruin. Prank on, Chris.
