A familiar face is coming back to Law & Order: SVU, but it’s not Elliot Stabler (played by Christopher Meloni).

Richard Belzer is returning to the criminal procedural juggernaut as John Much for an episode set to air in May called "Fashionable Crime," Entertainment Weeklyreports. It will follow a young model victimized by a fashion house photographer, who Munch and Finn (Ice-T) were never able to make a case against.

"We love having Richard back on set," executive producer Warren Leight said, according to EW. "This episode was perfect for Munch’s cynical eye, and just the right time for him to give Benson [Mariska Hargitay], and Noah, some much needed support."

This will be the first time Belzer has played the character since leaving the show in 2014. He originally starred as Munch on NBC’s Homicide: Life on the Street in 1993 until is cancelation in 1999. He then switched over to Law & Order: SVU and played the cynic detective who believed in conspiracy theories for another 15 years.

No word yet on if he'll appear in additional episodes, but the show was recently renewed for an 18th season. That also leaves hope for those wishing Meloni will finally cave in and come back for an episode or two. A person can dream, right?
