Universal says it has no plans to make a "Straight Outta Compton" sequel, despite rumors that they were working on one about Snoop and Tupac.

Daz Dillinger has been fanning the flames on rumors today of a Straight Outta Compton "sequel" that would focus on Snoop, Tha Dogg Pound and Tupac, but don't get your hopes up too much just yet.

Daz talked to TMZ about a sequel, and from there the news went everywhere, but Universal Pictures doesn't seem to have any idea what he's talking about.

Universal, the studio that distributed Compton has responded to EW about the sequel talk and tells the magazine via a spokesperson that there are currently no plans to make any such movie.

On top of that, a spokesperson for Ice Cube, a producer on Compton, told EW that while Cube likes the idea, he has not given permission for any sort of Compton sequel. (It's the second disappointing Cube/movie related news this week, after Cube denied rumors he is making an L.A. riots movie with his son, O'Shea Jackson Jr.).

Of course, money talks, and with Compton making more of it than anyone ever thought it would, don't be surprised if this movie eventually gets made somewhere. And since it isn't a true sequel, that could theoretically be any studio, and any producer (it might make sense to bring in Snoop on this one?).

And if any screenwriters are reading this, forget making just one sequel. We already know how to stretch this hip hop biopic thing out to like five more spinoffs
