Hillary Clinton Compares Republican Views on Women to Those of Terrorist Groups

Clinton takes Republicans to task for their outmoded ideas on women.

With resident loose cannon Joe Bidenwaiting patiently on the sidelines to (maybe) possibly definitely not probably so (?) join the Democratic race (back) to the White House, Hillary Clinton finds herself in the unique position of benefiting far more than usual from saying exactly what the fuck what she wants. With Donald Trump leading the Republican field with a circus-like flair for pageantry, Clinton must look elsewhere for worthier targets. Thankfully, that's an easy task.

"Marco Rubio brags about wanting to deny victims of rape and incest access to health care, to abortion," Hillary Clinton told an audience in Cleveland on Thursday. "Jeb Bush says Planned Parenthood shouldn’t get a penny. Your governor right here in Ohio banned state funding for some rape crisis centers because they sometimes refer women to other health facilities that do provide abortions." Cleverly, Republicans can't truthfully argue against any of those allegations, as they're all based in facts and technicalities. However, that doesn't quite feel like enough, does it?

"I would like these Republican candidates to look a mom in the eye who caught her breast cancer early because she was able to get a screening for cancer," Clinton added, "or the teenager who didn’t get pregnant because she had access to contraception. Or anyone who’s ever been protected by an HIV test." Yes! But could you drive it home a little harder? We kind of need a cool and catchy word that could easily summarize all of the GOP ridiculousness. What do you have, Hillary?

“Now, extreme views about women, we expect that from some of the terrorist groups," Clinton told a ready-to-tweet-it Cleveland, according to BuzzFeed. "We expect that from people who don’t want to live in the modern world, but it’s a little hard to take from Republicans who want to be the president of the United States, yet they espouse out of date, out of touch policies. They are dead wrong for 21st century America. We are going forward, we are not going back.”

Terrorism! That's it. Well played, Hillary.
