UPDATE: According to the Associated Press, local officials have declared the deaths of Chris and Nicole Peppelman a murder-suicide:

Montgomery County Coroner Walter Hofman said Wednesday that 41-year-old Nicole Peppelman was killed and 48-year-old Christopher Peppelman took his own life.

The Montgomery County Coroner also noted that, in addition to the chainsaw wounds, Nicole Peppelman was choked and stabbed.

A teenage boy found the dead bodies of his parents near a chainsaw at their Pennsylvania home yesterday, authorities say.

NBC Philadelphia reports that the 14-year-old found his parents inside of their Lower Moreland, Pa. home just before 1 p.m. According to ABC 13, police in Montgomery County say Chris Peppelman, 48, and Nicole Peppelman, 41, sustained lacerations from the chainsaw. Still, only one of the deaths was confirmed as a homicide, and police told the news outlet they are not searching for suspects.

Montgomery County District Attorney revealed the investigation's early findings to ABC 13: "The death of the female seems to be an apparent homicide, however, the investigation is continuing. This is preliminary at this point."

ABC13 adds that autopsies will be performed today to pinpoint official causes of death.
