Hear that? It's the sound of hearts breaking.

The convicted felon who became an object of the Internet's affection last summer after his mugshot went viral has been sentenced to two years in prison.

The New York Daily News reports that a federal judge sentenced Jeremy Meeks to 27 months in prison yesterday. Meeks, 30, was arrested for gun possession in Stockton, Calif. last June and charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm. CBS Sacramento adds that Meeks was also ordered to take part in the Bureau of Prisons Substance Abuse Treatment's 500-hour program.

Despite his prison sentence, thirst for Meeks likely will not subsist. Ted Bundy had a slew of female fans, and both Erik and Lyle Menendez got married in jail because the world is a strange place.
