The Simpsons marathon was more than just hype. It did everything FXX hoped for and brought in a huge ratings boost. Before airing every single episode of the show, FXX was 49th in its key demographic. By the end it jumped up to 3rd. And according to The New York Times, the average primetime episode grabbed 1.3 million viewers.
The question for FXX is how to keep those numbers, or at least get close. Airing 24 hours of The Simpsons per week sounds like a great answer, but will the excitement last?
