For the past seven years, the Twitter account @EveryWord has been tweeting out, one by one, every word in the English language. Well, not every word, but a hell of a lot of them. One every 30 minutes, to be exact, which has equated to a little more than 109,000 words. Now, the project is coming to an end.
When @everyword finishes tweeting every word, that will mark the beginning of the apocalypse, the end of the world as we know it.— Jed Heersche (@DustyassJed) June 3, 2014
Earlier this week, the account reached the "Z" words, and by the end of the weekend, it will have reached the final word. The account is being controlled by a bot, so it's not like someone is sitting there doing it themselves. The professor who set up the bot says he doesn't remember what source the account is pulling the words from, so we don't know what the last word will be. Maybe some surprises are worth waiting for. Stay tuned.
