As we get closer and closer to the official reveal of the new Star Wars cast, the rumor mill has reached critical mass. And now, according to Deadline, one of the most promising pieces of gossip yet links Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis) to a “major role” in J.J. Abrams’ upcoming Star Wars film.
There is no word on what the actual part might be, and there really isn’t any need to speculate because there is a good chance that everyone will be wrong. Still, Isaac isn’t necessarily a traditional Star Wars choice, and that makes the whole thing that much more intriguing.
One other piece of news that the site slipped into the same article is that Harrison Ford’s Han Solo role will apparently be “gigantic” in the first part of the trilogy. Many people weren’t sure just how large the roles would be for the classic cast, but it’s refreshing to see that they will likely be more than a cameo.
