Everyone, take note—the next time Isla Fisher says that something is a bad idea, it probably definitely is. For instance: According to a report from Us Weekly, Fisher tried to stop Julianne Hough from wearing that terrible Orange Is the New Black costume which was complete with blackface.
Here's what apparently went down: When Fisher found out that Hough was wearing the costume, a source says that she immediately told Hough to "go to the bathroom and wipe her face off...Isla hoped she got to Julianne before photos were taken."
Unfortunately, Hough didn't, and photos were eventually snapped of Hough in full blackface as Uzo Aduba's character, Crazy Eyes, from OITNB. It's worth noting that Fisher's rep is reportedly denying this happened, but the source maintains that Fisher "was mortified" at Hough's costume choice.
As previously reported, Hough eventually apologized for the costume on her Twitter, saying, "I am a huge fan of the show Orange is the New black, actress Uzo Aduba, and the character she has created. It certainly was never my intention to be disrespectful or demeaning to anyone in any way. I realize my costume hurt and offended people and I truly apologize."
