Bill Watterson retired his comic strip Calvin & Hobbes on New Year's Eve of 1995, but its influence has endured today, impacting a brand new generation of artists. Watterson's influence, his backstory, and the history of Calvin & Hobbes is explored in director Joel Allen Schroeder's new documentary Dear Mr. Watterson, which is interspersed with interviews from many famous cartoonists and other celebrities. The film will be released to Video on Demand on November 15, but you can watch the trailer above, and also head over to The Atlantic for an interview with Schroeder and a longer clip from the doc.
