A teenager was killed in Longmont, Col. during a prank gone tragically wrong. Premila Lal, 18, was hiding in a closet to surprise her friend, 21-year-old Nerrek Daniel Galley. Lal's father says that when she jumped out of the closet, Galley—thinking she was an intruder—shot her. Lal was carried to a vehicle by she and Galley's brother and cousin, ages 15 and 12. She died at the hospital later that night.
Galley was arrested for charges not related to the shooting, such as reckless endangerment, permitting a juvenile to have a firearm and suspected child abuse.
