His role has not been revealed, though.

None

The cast of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is really coming together. Just two days after the announcement that Scottish actress and former Doctor Who star Karen Gillan was to join the cast as the 'lead female villain,' Deadline is reporting that Benicio Del Toro has also signed on to the film. Though his role is unspecified, the character is said to be a one that will be apart of future Marvel films, meaning his deal includes the option for him to be cast in upcoming movies. So, you know, get used to him.

Really, though, could this cast get any crazier? As of now, we've got: Gillan, Del Toro, Lee Pace, The Walking Dead star Michael RookerChris PrattZoe SaldanaDave Bautista, John C. Reilly, and Glenn Close. And, with the role of Rocket Raccoon still left to be cast, it's only going to get crazier.

Slither writer James Gunn penned the screenplay, and is also set to direct. The film will begin production in the U.K. this month.
