If our younger selves could see us complaining about the sluggish moments of our high-speed wireless connections that don't allow us to stream Netflix, use Google Docs, and Skype at the same time, we would likely punch our older selves as hard as our little hands could muster. For many of us, our first exposure to the Internet was waiting minutes just to look up simple facts for a school project or find a desktop background featuring our favorite movie star. Whenever faster Internet finally made its way to your community, you would spend hours pleading with your parents to shell out a little more cash for the monthly bill as though your life depended on it.

Slow Internet now means you can't do everything you want to do. Back in the day it meant that you couldn't do anything at all.
