In 1989, Baseball Stars for the NES fed into the ultimate fan fantasy by allowing people to "create themselves" with what is to believed to be the first create-a-player. It's true you'll never make a million dollars to play a game, retire at age 34 or sleep with groupies; but you do live in an era where you can play a virtual depiction where all that can happen (at least maybe we'll get that groupie part on the PS4).
