Based on actual events that occurred in Texas, this black comedy follows Bernie (Black), a well-respected assistant mortician who becomes best of friends with a widowed, wealthy, mean-spirited woman named Marjorie (MacLaine), only to end up murdering her. A massive cover-up ensues, some rough jokes, too.
