If anything objectively defies gender-normative ideas, it's booze. Your second x-chromosome shoudn't determine what you order at the bar. What should? The taste (and content) of a drink.

This is our middle finger to the world for the idea of "gender appropriate" drinks even existing. Disregard their narrow definition of masculinity. Sure, some women like cloyingly sweet drinks. Others prefer hop-heavy IPAs served with a side of whiskey. And if you like your cocktails garnished with several pieces of brightly colored fruit, who's anyone to tell you to order anything else?

Don't gaze wistfully at your girlfriend's banana daiquiri any longer. Stop defending yourself and start drinking these shamelessly, the 15 "Girly" Drinks That a Confident Man Should Order.

Blue Hawaiian

What's In It?: White rum, pineapple juice, blue curacao, cream of coconut
What It Tastes Like: Tastes like blue. Nah, it tastes like a piña colada.
Why You Should Order It: It's smurf blue, and she'll admire your gumption for even ordering a drink with a primary color in its name.

Lemondrop

What's In It?: Vodka, lemon juice, sugar
What It Tastes Like: Lemony vodka, natch.
Why You Should Order It: Because, despite its feminine mystique (we're looking at you, sugar rim) this a martini. But, thanks to a little sweetness, vodka's pungent hairspray flavor is disguised, making for a dangerously easy to drink martini.

Sangria

What's In It?: Red wine, triple sec, brandy, orange juice, chopped fruit
What It Tastes Like: Like red, red wine. Only sweeter.
Why You Should Order It: Have you seen Vicky Cristina Barcelona? Javier Bardem has Penélope Cruz, Scarlett Johansson, and her cute, but not as hot friend. All in the same movie. It's probably because he was a Spaniard, and Spaniards drink sangria. Or because he's Javier Bardem. Tough call.

Mai Tai

What's In It?: White and dark rum, pineapple juice, orange juice, lime juice, grenadine
What It Tastes Like: Sweet as fuck.
Why You Should Order It: Sucking down a Mai Tai is an event. "Who is that gentleman proudly drinking from a hurricane glass in the dead of winter?" bystanders will wonder. It is you. You are that gentleman.

Frozen Margarita

What's In It?: Tequila, sour mix, triple sec, lime juice
What It Tastes Like: A mistake waiting to happen, preferably the kind where you misplace your boxer briefs.
Why You Should Order It: In this tasty, agave-laced frozen slush, your inhibitions are lost. At least for the next few hours, before you wake up with a massive hangover, at a stranger's apartment. Tequila, you crazy.

Thug Passion

What's In It?: Alize and Cristal
What It Tastes Like: Liquid decadence, obviously.
Why You Should Order It: You heard 2Pac. It's guranteed to get that...Uh, you know the lyrics.

Mojito

What's In It?: White rum, mint, lime juice, club soda
What It Tastes Like: Mint and freedom from heteronormativity.
Why You Should Order It: If Pierce Bronsan can sip a mojito and still maintain his devil-may-care demeanor, maybe there's a chance you can suck down this minty concotion and still pull Halle Berry league tail. How refreshing.

Sauvignon Blanc

What's In It?: It's white wine, fool.
What It Tastes Like: Fermented grapes.
Why You Should Order It: It will make your food taste better. Really. Plus, if you can confidently navigate a wine list, women make wonderful, wonderful assumptions about other things you might be able to navigate. Maybe.

Sex on the Beach

What's In It?: Vodka, peach schnapps, creme de cassis, orange juice, cranberry juice
What It Tastes Like: Like vodka and a harem of juices had a baby. Because that's what happens when you fornicate outdoors.
Why You Should Order It: If you can order this deadpan, without so much as raising an eyebrow at the bartender, you my friend, have balls. We like that. Pause.

Cosmopolitan

What's In It?: Vodka, triple sec, lime juice, cranberry juice
What It Tastes Like: An open invitation to glibly rebuff Sex and the City references.
Why You Should Order It: Fuck Carrie and all of her friends. You should drink this because it's delicious, and it's a easy way to aggresively consume vodka if you're not a martini man. Plus, it's in a martini glass. Point that out to the haters.

French 75

What's In It?: Gin, lemon juice, sugar, champagne
What It Tastes Like: Champagne with a gin kick. YOU HEAR THAT? THERE'S GIN IN IT, HATERS.
Why You Should Order It: This is on some prohibition tip. Nucky probably took a few of these down on Boardwalk Empire at some point. Maybe while boning Paz de la Huerta. That's what happens when you drink a French 75. And if anyone gives you lip, remind them of that.

Pina Colada

What's in it? Rum, Coco Lopez, Ice.
What's it taste like? Among other things, a direct flight to The Bahamas, a much-needed hiatus from your 9-5, and a bottle of Hawaiian Tropic. Also, coconut.
Why should you order it? If you're on an island, sand covering your feet, and you don't have a pina colada in hand? You've made and/or are making the wrong life decisions. Also, because it's either hot as hell or freezing and dreary. Aside from a coconut allergy, there is no wrong reason to order this drink, ever. And even then, it's dicey.

Fuzzy Navel

What's In It?: Peach schnapps, orange juice.
What's it taste like? Fresh peaches, youth, stupidity, and SEC basketball.
Why should you order it? Ordering this counts as foreplay, right? Maybe not, but it does sound dirty enough to double as a pickup line at the bar, so long as you don't order it with too creepy of a smile. It's a trashy version of a screwdiver. Indulge your most lowbrow instincts.

Mudslide

What's in it? Vodka, Kahlua, Baileys Irish Cream, actual cream.
What's it tastes like? Like blowing bubbles into chocolate milk as a four-year old, the cognizance of which you will have after drinking three of these.
Why should you order it? Because it's a dessert masquerading as a drink. It's like coffee-flavored ice cream. In a glass. With booze.

Tom Collins

What's in it? Gin, lemon juice, simple syrup, bitters, club soda
What's it taste like? Like gin's pine-needle essence has been smothered in sweetness.
Why should you order it? Tom Collins was a real man. Actually, that's a lie. But if you need a reason to drink this, aside from it being incredibly tasty, you have that. It's a lie, but it's better than being too insecure to not order a Tom Collins.
