Jared Cohn's Hold Your Breath, which hits theaters this Friday, marks Katrina Bowden's third horror film in as many years. This sexy 30 Rock star is quickly becoming known as one of Hollywood's go-to scream queens.

And while, yes, the genre is seemingly more popular now than it's been in years, there are some horror movie actresses, like Bowden, whom we think deserve more than to be constantly cast as the hot chick whose life hangs in the balance.

So before you're on the edge of your seat this Friday, check out some other gorgeous gals of gore who we think already have more than enough horror films on their resumé.

Danielle Panabaker

Most memorable horror movie: Friday The 13th (2009)

Number of horror movies she starred in: 5

Ever since 2009, after she starred in Marcus Nispel's Friday the 13th reboot, Danielle Panabaker has been pumping out horror film after horror film, with the most recent being Piranha 3DD. We think it's about time that this 25-year-old actress broadens her theatrical horizons. First Disney flicks, now scary movies—how about a dramedy or two?

Chelan Simmons

Most memorable horror movie: Final Destination 3 (2006)

Number of horror movies she starred in: 15

The horror bug bit Chelan Simmons at an early age. She was cast as Ann Winterbarger in Stephen King's award-winning miniseries, It, when she was just seven-years-old. Since then, between theatrical releases and made-for-TV movies, Chelan's gone on to star in 14 other scary movies, including 2007's Wind Chill and 2010's Tucker and Dale vs Evil.

Sara Paxton

Most memorable horror movie: Shark Night 3D (2011)

Number of horror movies she starred in: 4

Though her career was kicked off by co-starring in family films like Liar Liar and Durango Kids, this captivating California girl starred in 3 horror flicks in 2011 alone; The Innkeepers, Enter Nowhere and Shark Night 3D. Maybe Paxton needs to revisit her comedic roots.

Rose McGowan

Most memorable horror movie: Grindhouse (2007)

Number of horror movies she starred in: 8

Ever since she starred in 1996's Scream, Rose McGowan has had a tendency to choose roles that were more hair-raising than highbrow. With her seductive, bad-girl looks, the casting is always spot on. And while we'd like to see her spread her wings, so to speak, we're not so sure that'll happen. She did once date Marilyn Manson after all, which proves her penchant for all things creepy.

Katrina Bowden

Most memorable horror movie: Tucker and Dale vs Evil (2010)

Number of horror movies she starred in: 4

Katrina Bowden, who's best known as Liz Lemon's sexy secretary on television's 30 Rock, is quickly becoming horror movie staple. With her adorable, girl-next-door smile, Katrina can no doubt play a damsel in distress better than most. However, we'd rather not see this bombshell covered in blood for a little while.

Sheri Moon Zombie

Most memorable horror movie: House of 1000 Corpses (2003)

Number of horror movies she starred in: 7

If you're an actress who's married to Rob Zombie, the god of gore himself, starring in multiple horror movies is par for the course. But we'd like to see what Mrs. Zombie could do with a role that didn't require her to either kill or be killed.

Briana Evigan

Most memorable horror movie: Sorority Row (2009)

Number of horror movies she starred in: 8

Briana Evigan has certainly reached scream queen status. The first film she starred in was titled House Of The Damned and the last was The Devil's Carnival. Come on, switch it up, Briana!

Milla Jovovich

Most memorable horror movie: Resident Evil (2002)

Number of horror movies she starred in: 8

Milla, we love you, but how many Resident Evil films are you going to make?! Maybe you should crank out another stoner classic, a la Dazed and Confused, if not do another indie dramedy, like Dirty Girl.

Amber Heard

Most memorable horror movie: Zombieland (2009)

Number of horror movies she starred in: 5

Despite breaking out with the comedy Pineapple Express, Amber Heard kept her career fueled with horror films, the first being 2005's SideFX. And though her sultry smile does indeed scream—no pun intended—slasher-movie sexy, we think her classic good looks could easily help propel Amber to the next level in her career.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead

Most memorable horror movie: Death Proof (2007)

Number of horror movies she starred in: 7

The Abraham Lincoln:Vampire Hunter star is drop dead gorgeous, but that doesn't mean we like seeing her drop dead. We think this ravishing North Carolina native, also our former cover girl, should stop hunting down vampires, and start hunting down Oscars. Hopefully, her next film Smashed, co-starring Aaron Paul, helps her do just that.
