Check out what is, in our opinion, the coolest premise of the fall TV season: In a technological spin on the familiar post-apocalyptic set-up, Revolution takes place in a world where all electronic devices, including computers, batteries, and car engines, don't work, and civilians are forced to survive by any natural means necessary. Adding to the high-concept NBC show's intrigue is the presence of director Jon Favreau (Iron Man and Iron Man 2), who sat behind the camera for the pilot episode.

Here's where the concern stems from, however: It's a J.J. Abrams project. While that was once a source of instant confidence, the mega-producer's recent television failures (Undercovers and Alcatraz) indicate that he's in a creative funk of sorts. Will Abrams, co-producer Bryan Burk, and series creator Eric Kripke be able to capitalize on Revolution's gripping narrative hook?
