A 911 dispatcher out of Montgomery County, Maryland, is on administrative leave with pay after falling asleep and snoring in the middle of an emergency call. A panicking woman called 911 after her husband abruptly stopped breathing, and despite her cries of "hello," the dispatcher still nodded off.
A second dispatcher had to step in and help the woman open an airway for her husband, all while the original dispatcher snored. Loudly. He finally woke up six minutes later, unaware that the call was still in progress, repeating, "What's the address?" as the woman sobbed on the other end.
The husband was eventually taken to the hospital.
