DaBaby is set to have a huge first week for his new album Kirk, giving the Charlotte rapper plenty to celebrate. But just days after the release of the record, video surfaced online of his security knocking out a female fan at a concert after they got too hands-on when DaBaby jumped in the pit. His security guard later posted on Instagram to explain the situation further, and now the artist has opened up about the situation further in an interview on The Breakfast Club.

"I don't know what really set it off, it was just out there swinging," he explained of the incident just gone the 16:00 point of the interview.

He explained that he and his crew attempted to get him back onstage when they saw the situation going sour after he jumped in the pit, but they kept getting hit. Asked when he realized it was a woman who got hit by security, he said, "When the internet told us." He added that he didn't feel bad upon hearing it was a woman, even if he doesn't like that it happened.

"I ain't feel bad, what you hitting me for? I feel bad about the fact it had to be a woman that it happened to, but at the end of the day..." He trailed off, but alluded to how his security is quick to deal with any threat to him, and in this situation they didn't want to take any chances.

His security guard, who has previously shared his perspective, came in to explain the situation further. "When I found out it was a girl, I felt bad like, 'Damn I hit a girl like that?' I never punched no girl in my life. They chopped me up though for that," the man said. "I feel bad for hitting a girl like that, but at the end of the day she shouldn't hit him."

Earlier in the interview, DaBaby talked about the influence of his late father, who he lost just as he was set to take off on his first headlining tour. "Just came on the tour bus, but I'm typing obituaries and shit," he said at the 6:00 mark of the interview. "I'm doing all this while I'm breaking through on tour, rocking sold-out shows."

DaBaby also dropped by Sway's Universe to drop off a freestyle. Check out what he got up to at the 24:00 point of the video below, and check out his interview on The Breakfast Club above.
