King Push is no more.
Just days before he unleashes his third studio album, Pusha T confirmed the highly anticipated project will be called DAYTONA. The G.O.O.D. Music president revealed this detail via Twitter on Wednesday, shortly after Beats 1 host and music supervisor Scott Vener shared a screenshot of the album’s advance stream.
Pusha said he decided to change the name from King Push (a project he’s been teasing since late 2014) to DAYTONA because he believed the former title wasn’t reflective of the album’s general message.
“’DAYTONA’ represents the fact that I have the luxury of time. That luxury only comes when u have a skill set that your confident in,” he tweeted.
Pusha went on to say that the upcoming album was “for my family...high taste level, luxury, drug raps fans.”
Considering DAYTONA will arrive in less than 48 hours, many fans have wondered why they have yet to receive any major details about the project. It wasn't until Wednesday afternoon that his team confirmed the album's official tracklist, which Kanye West previously revealed on Twitter.
DAYTONA tracklist:
1. If You Know You Know
2. The Games We Play
3. Hard Piano f/ Rick Ross
4. Come Back Baby
5. Santeria
6. What Would Meek Do? f/ Kanye West
7. Infrared
Fans have not heard any promotional singles nor have they seen DAYTONA’s cover art. Pusha also addressed this in his series of tweets:
The fact that the final master was submitted only a few hours ago may seem like there was a rush to the deadline, but the Bronx-bred rapper doesn’t appear to be the slightest bit worried. In fact, he seems pretty confident in the work he and 'Ye have done.
DAYTONA is set to drop this Friday. Pusha T also shared plans to release a vinyl edition of the album, as well as clothing items that more than likely includes quotes from DAYTONA. You can cop here.
