Offset Will Not Face Criminal Charges From Car Accident

Offset had left the scene of the accident.

Offset will not be met with criminal charges from his May 16 car crash in Atlanta, even though Offset left the accident scene, according to TMZ.

The outlet had previously reported that the police were investigating why Offset had left and if he had someone with him when the wreck happened. However, the case is now officially closed. The incident is being seen as an abandoned/recovered vehicle case: only a tree was hit and no one besides Offset was injured.

Offset had suffered minor injuries and was subsequently hospitalized. Cardi B hurried to be with her fiancé when she heard about the accident.

A passerby reported the accident shortly after it happened, at around 2:30 a.m. local time. When the authorities arrived at the scene, the Challenger was abandoned, with no discernible victims or witnesses. Law enforcement then launched an investigation to determine what caused the accident. Offset was also never identified as the driver.

Both Offset and Quavo have expressed their gratitude that Offset didn’t die. Offset even posted a photo of the wrecked car to Instagram, writing, “This is why I thank God Every day I could have been dead from this accident thank you all for you prayers all I can say is (G O D I S R E A L G E T W I T H H I M ) H E S A V E S L I V E S.”

TMZ spoke with Offset after the accident, asking “Do you know what happened, this good samaritan that helped you out?” to which Offset responded, “God.”
